All purchased sessions must be used consecutively. You may only attend classes during the sessions you purchase. Prices listed below may differ per location.
What you’ll need
To get most out of the class you will need the following items:
- First timers Waiver
- Goggles
- Swimming suit
- Athletic clothes (wear over suit at beginning of class)
- Athletic shoes
- Slip-on pool fins

Class Information
Each Amphibious Bootcamp session is one hour per class, three times per week (two week nights or mornings, and one weekend morning), for a duration of four weeks.
Due to space constraints of the pool, you may only attend the four week session you are signed up for.
All purchased sessions must be used consecutively. For specific dates and scheduled please visit the Locations page.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
In order to cancel your order and receive a full refund, you must contact Hellbender’s Amphibious Bootcamp and cancel your order 48 hours prior to the time your Bootcamp session begins. If you purchase a three or six month package, once the first session of the package begins, no refunds are authorized.

Q: If I bought a Groupon or other Deal, how do I sign up?
A: If you bought a Groupon or other Deal, sign up by emailing your desired time and location to info@hellbend.com. Do not attempt to sign up on this website or pool websites. Please do not contact pool facilities with questions about Hellbender’s; direct all questions to info@hellbend.com.
Q: How long is Hellbender’s Amphibious Boot Camp?
A: Each Hellbender’s session is 4 weeks, 3 one-hour classes per week.
Q: Can I sign up for multiple sessions?
A: Yes, you can sign up for a 1 month session, 3 one month sessions (must be used consecutively), or 6 months (must be used consecutively). The more sessions you purchase, the more you save.
Q: Can I sign up for a single 1 hour class?
A: Of course! If you would like to try the class before committing to an entire session, or you are only able to attend a few classes per session, just choose Drop-in on the sign up page of your choice location.
Q: If I miss a 1 hour class, can I make it up during another session?
A: Unfortunately no, based on the structure of the Camps, you may only attend the 12 one hour classes per session that you purchase.
Q: I don’t have swim fins, and don’t want to buy any. Are they mandatory to take the class?
A: No, but you will benefit more if you have them.
Q: Do I need to be an advanced swimmer to take the Camp?
A: No, but you should be able to swim at least 25 yards without stopping, even if it takes a while. You should also be able to tread water, as some of our pools are over head high, and you will not be able to stand up. Remember, if you do not consider yourself a strong swimmer, the only way to get better is to do it!
Q: What if I have a permanent injury, or am unable to do certain exercises (for example: I can’t do squats because I have a hurt knee)?
A: If something hurts, don’t do it! The last thing we want is for you to become injured or inflame an old injury. If you are unable to do an exercise, then you and the instructor will come up with another option to try to pinpoint the area you are trying to work out. However, you should always check with your physician before starting any exercise routine.
Q: Is Hellbender’s coming to my city?
A: If you would like to see Hellbender’s in your city, let us know, and we will start working on it! If you have any pool location suggestions, that always helps.

Q: What is a Hellbender!?!
A: Hellbenders are one of the largest salamanders (Amphibians) in the world, growing to over 2 feet long. Hellbenders are only found in the mountains and foothills of the eastern United States, generally in streams that flow to the Mississippi River. They once thrived in thousands of pristine streams in the Ozark and Appalachian mountains, and throughout the Ohio River valley. Today, hellbenders are limited to relatively few healthy stream systems, mainly in areas that have remained isolated from development and urbanization, mainly in the rugged mountains of West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. They can still be found throughout their original range, but they are quickly declining in most places because many streams are not adequately protected from sediment runoff.
